Allied Exchange launches cross-network mobile money system in Africa
Allied Exchange Africa Ltd., a digital payment service provider in Ghana, has launched a platform called Alexpay that is intended to bridge the gap between interoperability issues with mobile money services in the country, according to local reports.
"The increased transactions and cash flows via mobile money transfer service platforms only shows that mobile money is the future and the key to Ghana's financial inclusion and cash-lite agenda," Moses Kanduri, COO and co-founder of Alexpay, told local media.
Kanduri said Alexpay users can create virtual mobile money that enables them to both accept bank deposits and funds transfers from other users as well as the ability to pay for goods and services at merchants.
For merchants, the system enables them to integrate credit card payments and cross-network functionality with other mobile money services.
