Alipay has teamed with smartphone manufacturer Huawei in China to enable biometric-based mobile payments in a soon-to-be-released device, according to a press release.

The Mate 7 will include Alipay's Wallet app and work in tandem with the smartphone's fingerprint reader to confirm payments made with the device, according to the announcement. 

Huawei reportst that fingerprint data can be saved and stored on the device, but claims the data is encrypted and cannot be accessed.
