T-Pay launched in January 2014 as the First Direct Carrier Billing service in MENA, the platform is one of the newest ventures of A15. It aims to enable online business monetisation in the region. T-Pay, an A15 company, has built this unique ecosystem for mobile payment, connecting consumers, businesses and mobile operators through one simple integration followed by a one- step and click-to-buy button.
T-Pay.me today enjoys the biggest regional DCB footprint. The payment platform is the fastest growing in the region already partnered with 25 mobile operators from 11 countries to provide DCB to over 200 million mobile subscribers, giving international and regional digital businesses tremendous opportunities to reach out to new consumers and grow in new markets. Customers do primarily benefit by having access to the most frictionless real time payment experience charging their purchases directly to their mobile operators accounts when using T-Pay’s wide network of merchants.
Online and digital businesses in general can seize great monetization opportunities and potential with T-Pay, as the Middle East's share of world wide mobile payments is still minimal but is expected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 80 per cent until 2017, when it will be worth US$27.6 billion. Almost half of that, or US$13 billion, will be generated from Direct Carrier billing (DCB). Recent 2015 study done by Ovum estimates that the global carrier billing market was worth $14.5bn in 2014 in total transactional value, climbing to just over $24.7bn in 2019.With the region recording one of the highest Internet traffic growth annually at 51% until 2016, emerging markets like MENA present a huge potential for DCB. T-Pay is working together with merchants and operators to lead the Direct Carrier billing (DCB) growth and help web and mobile businesses, developers and aggregators reach a wide range of consumers.
