LevelUp offers a convenient, quick way for small merchants like Paciugo's to accept mobile payments.

The LevelUp reader uses a standard mobile device to read the code on a user's mobile device. When the code is read, the plexiglass stand turns green to signify the transaction has registered.

The app itself uses a simple QR code linked to a credit or debit account to transmit payment information at the point of sale. Users can even choose to add a tip.

The app also locates LevelUp-accepting merchants nearby and shows users how much they can save by using the app.

The LevelUp app also includes the ability to scan codes at merchants to unlock discounts. (It also shows how LevelUp can eventually be used for P2P transactions.)
