Mobile: breaking down banking channel boundaries

Anytime, anywhere — mobile banking apps allow customers to take care of their banking business in a way that suits their needs and lifestyle.
Digital Banker gives the user a choice of a Siri-style voice interface or the app's tap-and-text function.
In this case, the customer uses the voice function for her billpay question: "Did I pay my cell phone bill?"
The app responds by pulling up a bank record of the customer's most recent cell phone payment.
The mobile user can then press continue to get a list of additional payment information options.
Among other things, the app can tell the customer how her most recent bill compares to previous payments.
When the mobile user asks if she's paid her cable bill, the app responds with a screen saying that no transaction was found.
The app then gives the user the option to pay her bill — or not.
Digital Banker also offers a function that lets a banking customer clarify an unrecognized charge in his checking transaction list.
The app can provide context for the charge (and jog the user's memory) by listing other transactions that were made nearby at around the same time.
The app can even pull up a street map of the area where transactions occurred.
Finally, the app gives the user the choice of concluding the session (if his question is answered) or continuing it in order to get more information.
