CellumPay is a leading mobile payment solution platform adopted by Master Card and marketed as “MasterCard Mobile” (MCM) in Central and Eastern Europe. Users of the service can pay quickly and securely with the help of their mobile handsets: smart & feature phones alike.
CellumPay allows users to simply and easily register as many credit/debit cards or any stored value cards as they want to their mobile handsets. Once the registration is complete they can use their cellphone for a number of transactions: Top-Up, Bill Payment, mDonation, mCommerce Purchases.
Cellum’s CellumPay technology is “brand/platform agnostic” – it is compatible with any card system. It is available as a technology platform (“white labeling”) for any banking brand. CellumPay can be combined with most e-commerce platforms and integrates easily with web shops, shopping carts or other mobile & e-commerce solutions.
Cellum’s “distruptive” mobile remote payment technology is currently being launched in many European markets. We call this a ‘disruptive’ technology as it clearly “changes the game” in the retail industry by allowing consumers to purchase nearly anything, anytime, from anywhere. This remote form of mobile purchasing fulfills the natural advantage of having a mobile phone. The freedom of communicating from anywhere, now allows for the ability to pay for any goods or services as a remote payment solution.
The advantage of Cellum’s solution is it is open and user-friendly. It merges any credit or debit bankcard (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, etc.) with any major smartphone platform (Android, iPhone, Windows, etc.) turning it into a virtual payment or purchasing device. The user simply downloads a free application from their appropriate app store and registers that app to provide a secure communication channel with their device, their phone number, the application and Cellum’s secure servers. This is accomplished via SMS and takes only a few seconds. The next step is to register as many bankcards as the user wants. These Mobile Payment Instruments (MPIs) can be credit or debit or any balance handling account. The user creates their own mPIN, a 6 - digit alpha numeric code that only they know. We do not store this anywhere. This one mPIN is used to verify and digitally sign every transaction that is made by the user. After the user registers their MPIs, they must activate them with an activation code sent to the transaction details of that MPI after a minimal owner-verifying transaction is made. The user is now ready to use their smartphone for payments or purchases.
