Zapper and Revel Systems this week announced a partnership to broaden the reach of their mobile payment technologies for restaurants, according to a press release from both companies.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Revel Systems, a company that shares our passion for creating a seamless experience for restaurants and diners alike," Jim Hite, Zapper's chief revenue officer, said in a statement. "Zapper was designed to build community, drive increased restaurant revenue, and provide a superior customer experience, and this partnership will help more restaurants experience that."

Restaurants using Revel's iPad point-of-sale system now can activate Zapper as an additional payment option for their customers, according to the announcement. Through Zapper, diners will be able to scan a QR code printed on their bill and pay from the app without having to wait on their server. During this process, Zapper said, it captures detailed customer data, providing restaurants with the necessary tools to build a following and create targeted offers and promotions.
