UK beauty supplier partners with payleven mPOS

Salon Services will sell the mobile chip-and-PIN readers to independent business and freelance hair-and-beauty professionals.

Salon Services, a professional-hair-and-beauty supplier in Ireland and the U.K., and payleven, a European mPOS company that allows businesses to accept card payments on the go, today announced a partnership in the U.K. Salon will sell payleven's mobile chip-and-PIN reader to small, independent businesses and freelancers who are not tied down to one location, according to the press release.

"Since our launch, thousands of hair-and-beauty salon owners have already signed up for payleven, demonstrating a strong need for an affordable card payment solution which helps to run their business more efficiently," Ian Marsh, managing director of payleven UK, said in a statement. "For payleven, the partnership with Salon Services is the next step to fully democratize card payments in the fragmented but also highly mobile beauty industry."

The payleven pricing model offers rates starting at 2.75 percent and drop to as little as 1.5 percent depending on the amount processed by the merchant, according to the announcement.
