Twitter rolls out 'Buy Now' button

Adidas, Best Buy, and PacSun are among the first retailers to use the feature.

Twitter this week announced it is expanding its 'Buy Now' button feature to enable consumers to purchase products, digital goods, or services within the social media network, according to a company announcement.

Bigcommerce, Demandware, and Shopify are among the e-commerce sites that will integrate the 'Buy Now' button into their platforms. Adidas, Best Buy, and PacSun announced that they will use the feature also.

"The goal for all our commerce initiatives on Twitter is simple: Make it as easy as possible for businesses to connect directly with — and sell to — customers on Twitter," Nathan Hubbard, vice president of commerce for Twitter, wrote in a company blog post. "With 'Buy Now,' businesses can drive more conversions and remove much of the friction in the mobile purchasing process."

Twitter said the new feature is currently available to U.S. merchants only.
