The company is also set to expand the number of smartphones that support the mobile wallet.
Samsung is set to expand the number of smartphones that support Samsung Pay, and will also add an online component to that system that is thought to be similar to the in-app purchase capability from Apple Pay and Android Pay, according to a report from Reuters.
Thomas Ko, the co-general manager of Samsung Pay, told Reuters Samsung Pay likely will be available on lower-priced Samsung phones next year. At the moment, the system is available on the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Plus.
Ko also said online payment support also is coming in 2016.
