RideScout, a mobile app that enables users to search and compare ground transportation options on demand, Tuesday announced it has acquired GlobeSherpa, which provides mobile products for public transportation with mobile book-and-pay ticketing in several major U.S. markets such as Portland, San Francisco and Chicago. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, and the transactions were completed on June 29, according to a press release.

With the integration of GlobeSherpa's transit mobile ticketing technology, RideScout claims it is making significant advancements to its access, booking, and payment options. Together, the companies said they will offer comprehensive products for an integrated mobility ecosystem including:

• multiple transportation options accessed through one platform, with booking and payment integrated to allow for a seamless experience;
• critical last-mile transportation connectivity for commuters and public transit riders;
• mobility packages to incentivize people to use a variety of transportation providers; and
• back-office analytics and tools for service providers to achieve efficiencies in operation.

As RideScout begins to integrate GlobeSherpa's technology, its users will be able to see all transportation options on their mobile device, select the one they want, and pay for the ride, or access it, with just a few taps, according to the announcement. GlobeSherpa will also continue to bring mobile ticketing to transit agencies across the U.S. and beyond.
