Rhode Island pizza chain adds LevelUp Passbook feature

PieZoni customers can accrue and redeem loyalty rewards through standalone app.

Rhode Island-based PieZoni's, a 16-location pizza brand, has announced a partnership with LevelUp to release its new loyalty app. According to a press release, the app will enable mobile payments, including a PieZoni's "Pass" card that customers can store in their digital wallet on any Apple device.

The app will also enable customers to accrue and redeem loyalty rewards.

"Our incentive to switch to mobile payments, of course based in part on increased customer demand, is huge. More importantly, this move to mobile provides restaurant operators like us with an incredible opportunity that goes beyond just payments," PieZoni COO Victor Martinez said in the release. "We want to leverage this tidal shift in behavior in a way that optimizes the benefits to both our customers and our business. We evaluated a lot of technology platforms and found that LevelUp provides the loyalty and payment platform we need to reward customers while also giving us ownership over the customer data that is the key to making each customer feel special."

As part of the loyalty component, PieZoni customers can "unlock" $8 for every $100 they spend. A pre-ordering feature will also be added to the app before the holidays, the company said.

John Valentine, VP of Sales at LevelUp, said the app not only benefits customers by adding convenience, but also the brand by providing access to data.

"It's critical that brands are able to track customer data, down to every last pizza slice. Part of LevelUp's role in the mobile payments and loyalty space is to provide brands access to critical data that is rightfully theirs. Data that will inform important business decisions," he said in the release.

The PieZoni's app will represent LevelUp's first integration with Revention POS.

The app will launch just in time for Halloween and will be available as a free download on the App Store and Google Play.
