'Push for Pizza' app hits the market
A group of 19-year-olds from Brooklyn, N.Y., have developed the new Push for Pizza app, which allows customers to order their pizza with one tap. According to the Huffington Post, the founders call the new app the "Uber for pizza."
The app made its debut this summer. Customers enter their credit card information and address one time, and then a list will appear showing nearby pizzerias. They then choose their preference and tap. Chains are not included on the list, according to the story. The app also includes the option to choose the cheapest place or a place at random.
The app is among the most convenient methods now available to order a pizza. Earlier this year, a digital marketing solutions firm, ThinkActBuyLocal.com, launched The Pizza Bite Button, a one-touch food ordering app designed specifically for smaller or independent restaurants.
Last year, Washington, D.C.-based iStrategyLabs created a beta version of its new PiePal, an Internet-connected button used to order Domino's Pizza.
According to the iStrategyLabs website, all customers have to do is turn the dial to select the number of pizzas they want to order. They then press the center button to lock in their order. When the LED lights up, the order has been confirmed.
