Consumers have transferred more than 26 million pounds in funds since April.

Paym, the U.K. person-to-person mobile payments service, announced over the weekend that its users have transferred more than 26 million pounds ($39 million, or 34 million euros) in funds since it was launched in April.

Paym also announced that almost two million U.K. consumers use the service, which is compatible with major U.K. financial institutions.

A recent consumer survey sponsored by Paym found that 66 percent of the U.K. population is aware of mobile payments, and 52 percent of those respondents with knowledge of mobile payments are aware of Paym. Paym conducted the online survey with 2,499 adults between Dec. 18 and Jan. 8.
