PayAnywhere offers mPOS solution through retail channel partners
Mobile POS-maker PayAnywhere is following rival Square's lead by signing up major retailers to sell its card-reading dongle. The company announced today that its solution will be available in stores ranging from Walmart to Office Max.
Like other mobile point-of-sale providers, PayAnywhere targets small merchants with a solution that lets them accept credit and debit cards using a smartphone. Merchants pay 2.69 percent on every transaction.
PayAnywhere said the readers will cost $9.99 at retail stores; however, new merchants receive a $10 credit to their account once they sign up for processing services. Additionally, PayAnywhere said the first $1,000 in transactions during the first 30 days of service will be free to new merchants.
“PayAnywhere is designed to support the needs of real businesses from the moment a sale begins to when the money is deposited in the bank, and everything in between,” said Marc Gardner, CEO and founder of PayAnywhere.
Gardner said his company also offers its merchants improved services such as live customer and technical support.
The PayAnywhere solution supports iOS, Android and BlackBerry devices.
