Norway's MeaWallet seeks banks for pilots

Provider announced it will use tokenization set by the network brands.

Norway-based MeaWallet today announced it will integrate tokenization into its mobile wallet and is seeking to partner with banks on pilots heading into the first quarter of 2015.

"We started the preparation for tokenization to be included in our mobile technology platform early next year," Lars Sandtorv, CEO of MeaWallet, said in a statement. "Now we are ready for the next step, and we are currently discussing pilots with innovative financial institutions in many European countries and in the U.S.A. and Canada. With our approach any bank will get an end-to-end mobile payment solution that is based on standards that use existing worldwide acceptance networks and without any new investments or agreements at merchant side."

MeaWallet said in the statement it will deliver services for payment and gift cards, loyalty cards, coupons and ticketing, IDs, access cards and membership.
