Nordstrom launches new digital gifting experience

Nordstrom will use CashStar Commerce's product to enable consumers to create a highly personalized e-gifting experience for their recipients with a large selection of Nordstrom-designed faceplates and artwork and ability to add a personalized message.

Digital gift card provider CashStar Monday announced the launch of a digital gifting program with leading fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom, according to a press release.

"At Nordstrom, we hope to provide the best possible customer service and experience by delivering highly-relevant, personalized experiences no matter how customers choose to shop with us," said Sean Burrow, director, gift card at Nordstrom. "By partnering with CashStar, we have greatly improved the eGift card experience we are providing for our customers."

Nordstrom will use CashStar Commerce's product to enable consumers to create a highly personalized e-gifting experience for their recipients with a large selection of Nordstrom-designed faceplates and artwork and ability to add a personalized message. The eGift card is delivered in a virtual Nordstrom silver envelope, an extension of Nordstrom's signature silver box experience, according to the announcement. Senders also can choose to have the eGift delivered instantly or on a future date and will receive notification when their gift has been viewed.

"Nordstrom recognizes that a superior digital gifting experience demonstrates a dedication to providing customers the options they want in today's omni-channel world," said CashStar President and CEO Ben Kaplan. "By taking advantage of CashStar's platform, including the flexibility and scalability it provides, Nordstrom will drive growth and reduce costs while providing its customers a superior, engaging customer experience."

All Nordstrom gift cards are redeemable in stores and online at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack and HauteLook. Nordstrom donates one percent of all gift card sales — including amounts added to existing gift cards — to nonprofit organizations in its communities.
