New Smart TV app, mobile payment SDK from boxPay

BoxPAY, a mobile payment provider for web merchants and game developers, announced it is launching a new Smart TV mobile payment service to enable in-app and subscription payments, as well as a new Android SDK for in-app mobile payments.

BoxPAY lets users charge app and subscription purchases to their monthly mobile phone bills, no registration or credit card numbers required. With the new boxPAY mobile payment SDK, television manufacturers, Smart TV app developers and Android app creators can now integrate a convenient payment option quickly and easily, the company said. That opens up their market to users without credit cards or those who might abandon a purchase due to a lengthy registration and transaction process, it said.

"If users have to stop their activity, register and enter a credit card number, there's a huge drop-off at the point of sale," said Iain McConnon, co-founder of boxPAY. "With boxPAY, Smart TV manufacturers and Smart TV or Android app developers can offer an in-app mobile payment option to promote instant buying. BoxPAY's comprehensive SDK and technical support make implementation fast and easy."

BoxPay said it's looking for Smart TV manufacturers and app developers to partner with. The company has expanded its reach worldwide and is offering simple, one-touch in-app mobile payments and subscription solutions in 60 countries, including China, India and Indonesia.
