New line-busting app for restaurants from Storific

Another new mobile ordering app is promising to make long waits in restaurant lines a thing of the past. Storific, headquartered in Paris, is launching its new iPhone app this week. The app features a digital wallet powered by PayPal that lets order and pay on their mobile devices and then skip the line when it's time to pick up their orders.

Customers also receive updates on the status of their orders from the time they place their orders.

Additionally, Storific said its app includes integration with social network Facebook that lets customers see reviews, pictures and suggestions from previous patrons as well as those from the customer's own circle of friends.

“Storific is a great way to share your dicoveries with your colleagues, family and friends," said Storific CEO Michael Cohen. "Strangers’ reviews are great, but information gets way more relevant and valuable when it comes."

For restaurants, Storific said its app helps them deal with rush hour crowds with no need to add expensive hardware or software, and without having to purchase and install equipment at the point of sale. Restaurants need only pay the processing fee charged by PayPal for transactions.

“The Storific offer is an example of an accomplished and successfully innovative experience," said Frederic Biscay, PayPal France's head of mobile partnerships. "Consumers save some valuable time paying for their orders in just a few taps; restaurants improve their sales and service while getting their funds in real time."
