Mocapay reissues patents for POS integration, mobile marketing and payments

Mocapay has reissued patents for its single-use, perishable POS tokens for mobile transactions. Based in Denver, Mocapay provides technology for mobile marketing and payments.

The company said its patented technology secures consumer mobile payment information while providing merchants with marketing intelligence for understanding and influencing customer-spending.

Mocapay's original technology, patented in 2010, assigns a single-use or perishable token to each transaction, and delivers it to the consumer's mobile phone. The re-issued patent includes a POS integration element.

Mocapay said its technology integrates with payments, gift cards, loyalty and other marketing platforms. It also works with any handset or network and integrates with any POS, processor, wallet or existing program.

"Mocapay's early entry into the market allowed us to secure valuable mobile commerce-related intellectual property such as these patents," Doug Dwyre, Mocapay's CEO, said in a news release.

"Implementing a mobile loyalty program can seem intimidating for merchants," Dwyre said. "A mobile marketing program can be one of the most dynamic and fast-track tools to grow a business. We want merchants to have access to this technology."
