Mobile POS provider iZettle updates Android app for contactless
The company also introduced SMS receipts, a feature that has been available on the iOS app.
Mobile point-of-sale provider iZettle this past week announced it has redesigned its Android app to enable merchants to accept contactless payments on the go with the Pro Contactless Reader, a dongle the company launched in May.
The company's Android users can now accept contactless payments in Germany and the U.K. Sweden-based iZettle also introduced SMS receipts, a feature that has been available on the company's iOS app.
"We launched our first Android app back in 2012, at a time when Android was beginning to grow big," iZettle said in a press release. "Smart move, it turns out. Our Android community is thriving. It's our fastest growing platform and we've got roughly as many Android users as iOS users these days."
The company said contactless support is coming to additional countries in the near future.
