Minnesota CU dials up advanced capabilities for mobile members

Northwoods Credit Union teamed up with Digital Insight to offer members a better banking experience on their smartphones and tablets.

Northwoods Credit Union, a Cloquet, Minnesota-based FI with $76 million in assets, has implemented mobile banking solutions powered by Digital Insight, an NCR company.

According to a release from NCR Corp., the new service offers Northwoods members complete mobile access to their finances with services that include:

  • account balances
  • account history
  • ATM locator with GPS guidance
  • bill pay
  • SMS text

"With the advancements in technology, consumers' demands are rapidly changing and growing," said Jeff Hughes, general manager of Digital Insight and CTO of NCR financial services. "Integrating Digital Insight's mobile banking capabilities into their mobile app allows Northwoods Credit Union to evolve with its members' needs as it provides them an easy and secure way to access their finances on the go."

According to a Digital Insight study, people who bank online log in nine times a month. Smartphone users increase this number to approximately 20 times a month; with tablet users added to the mix, the number jumps to 31 times per month, the study found.
