MasterCard announced in a blog post last week that it would extend MasterPass' capabilities to extend to in-app payments some time next month. 

Retailers will be able to use an API to embed MasterPass as a checkout option within a mobile app, mobile website or desktop app, according to the blog post. Starbucks Australia and Shaw Theatres Singapore are among the first merchants to add MasterPass as an in-app payment option.
