Major retail brands using VeriFone GlobalBay mobile POS

New Balance and Samsonite are the newest major retail brands to select VeriFone GlobalBay's mobile point-of-sale solution.

VeriFone GlobalBay mPOS untethers store associates from a fixed location POS register to provide mobile checkout at the point of interaction wherever needed. It also provides store associates with access to inventory, price and product information, as well as customer purchase history and recommendations, Jennifer Miles, VeriFone executive vice president, North America, said in a company press release.

"Retailers are deploying mobile apps to speed up services and transform the customer experience, leveraging secure mobile payment, online catalogs and streamlined inventory management," she said.

Samsonite and New Balance will utilize the mPOS app for iPod touch. Also, VeriFone's PAYware Mobile Enterprise card encryption solution for iPod touch provides Samsonite and New Balance with card acceptance, encryption of payment transactions and an interface with VeriFone's PAYware Connect gateway services.

Samsonite is deploying the VeriFone GlobalBay solution to support an innovative back-to-school initiative, Robert W. Cooper, vice president and general manager, retail, North America, for Samsonite, said in the release.

"We wanted something that would enable us to get to market quickly and which simplifies the POS process," he said. "VeriFone GlobalBay mPOS cuts transaction time and provides consumers with better service."
