MACH, payvia form carrier billing partnership

Direct carrier biller payvia and mobile services provider MACH have announced plans to form a partnership. Through the relationship, MACH will use payvia's footprint and relationships with wireless carriers to bring its carrier billing services to the U.S.,while payvia will leverage MACH's European footprint and reach to extend its direct carrier billing platform.

Using payvia and MACH platforms, developers, app stores and online merchants can enable consumers to purchase virtual goods and place the charge on their monthly phone bill. The companies said that by bringing their direct carrier billing technologies together into a seamless global platform, they will extend this frictionless payment option.

"MACH is committed to making the monetization of services easier for our customers," said Michael De Jongh, global head of sales for mobile billing and payments at MACH. "Through our Direct Billing Gateway, we offer a comprehensive billing service which provides the glue to unite application stores, content providers and merchants with carriers. Payvia's trusted brand and leadership in direct carrier billing in the U.S. market makes them an ideal partner to bring our solution to the country."

For payvia, company president Darcy Wedd said MACH shares payvia's view that carrier billing offers unique benefits over other mobile payment technologies. "Direct operator billing offers a superior checkout on the mobile device and boosts the mobile ecosystem through new revenue streams, which is why we strongly believe it to be the payment model of the future."
