Israeli telecom selects new SIM OTA provider

CALLUP, a provider of value added services and mobile device management products for the telecom industry, today announced in a press release that Israel's Hot Mobile cellular telecommunications operator selected its SIM OTA platform for remote management, over the air, of files and applets on SIM cards. With SIM OTA, Hot Mobile will be able to manage the entire SIM card life cycle from activation of new accounts, through various upgrades and roaming updates, to SIM card cancellation and swap.

The OTA platform is based on CALLUP's MDM+ device management platform, according to the announcement. Features such as secured Remote File Management, Remote Applet Management and other remote over the air SIM operations are provided, as well as advanced features such as Steering of Roaming, Location Tracking and Welcome SMS.

"CALLUP's SIM OTA will allow us to manage the SIM cards with maximum efficiency, improving customer service and saving considerable costs and time, while interfacing with various functions related to our extensive mobile activity," Avi Benguigui, Hot Mobile's vice president of engineering, said in a statement. "Following our successful experience with CALLUP's BMS platform, we decided to choose CALLUP for SIM management as well."
