Infobip extends coverage to 40 countries

Mobile messaging company expands SMS messaging service to U.S., Brazil, China, India, Russia, South Africa and Mexico, among others.

Mobile messaging and payments provider Infobip today announced it has extended its two-way SMS messaging coverage to 40 countries, including the U.S., Brazil, China, India, Russia, South Africa and Mexico, according to a press release.

For every country covered, Infobip said in the announcement it can provide national numbers or short codes for receiving inbound SMS messages. Infobip also provides front-end management, reporting tools and high-quality performance and delivery over its proprietary platform, which processes over 1.5 billion SMS messages monthly. Infobip's infrastructure can be accessed over an SMS API, or through user-friendly web applications with campaign management features, according to the announcement.

"The value and potential for two-way SMS has been demonstrated by the wide range of businesses now implementing it," Silvio Kutic, Infobip founder and CEO, said in a statement. "Our two-way SMS service has already been used for global reservations systems, CRM and customer service platforms, and extended two-factor authentication. In each of these cases businesses have improved reach and the level of customer interaction."

Infobip serves mobile operators, OTTs, brands, banks, social networks and aggregators through 29 offices on six continents.
