ID Tech updates POS device for EMV, contactless acceptance

The Vivopay Vendi is intended for vending machines, drive-thrus, and other unattended systems.

ID Tech, a manufacturer of secure payment products, mobile payment, point-of-sale peripherals, and digital signage, recently announced the release of its contactless NFC and EMV payment device with a magnetic strip reader, called Vivopay Vendi.

"The Vendi release shows once again ID Tech’s commitment to our customers to continually stay at the forefront of technology while also remaining price competitive," Bill Rorick, vice president of global sales at ID Tech, said in a statement. "'Value Through Innovation' has long been our motto and the Vendi hits that mark. It provides additional performance enhancements and a future proof platform to our Vivopay Vend, which has long been the workhorse for cashless vending applications. With its enhanced performance, the new Vivopay Vendi will be the best and safest choice for unattended payment applications."

The Vivopay Vendi gives vending machines, drive-thrus, and other unattended markets the ability to accept contactless NFC, contactless EMV, and magnetic strip payments all in one device. The Vivopay Vendi also supports the acceptance of Apple Pay, Android Pay, and other mobile wallets for tap-and-go mobile phone payments.
