HID Global intros mobile engagement through NFC

Company will integrate its iZipline product to provide instant marketing abilities through a consumer's smartphone.

HID Global, a secure identity products company, today announced that its iZipline product will integrate HID Trusted Tag Services into its cloud-based software platform that enables mobile consumer engagement via Near Field Communications technology, according to a press release. 

Initially, trusted tags will be used for authentication of PackageTagz, iZipline's patent-pending technology for pouch packaging that provides instant engagement between brands and consumers' mobile devices for product recall, track and trace, brand protection, mobile marketing and related analytics, according to the announcement. 

"Selecting HID Global as a partner to provide secure connections for our NFC-enabled consumer engagement platform is consistent with our commitment to delivering the highest quality NFC solutions to global brands," Michelle Moulin, iZipline's CEO, said in statement. "We are excited to launch this partnership as iZipline continues to innovate as a leader in developing the 'Internet of Things.'"

HID Trusted Tag Services feature trusted tags with unique security and privacy attributes which make each tap unclonable, according to the press release. When integrated into iZipline's platform, this enables global brands to authenticate each product's package, protecting both a company's brand and consumers from counterfeit goods while also delivering chain-of-custody benefits. Trusted tags also provide iZipline with secure connections for instant delivery of relevant and timely product content to consumers via their mobile devices.
