Google Wallet to be on 10 devices by year's end
Fierce Mobile Content reported Osama Bedier, VP of Google Wallet and Payments, said partner Sprint Nextel will have at least 10 phones by year's end that will support Google Wallet. The first new smartphone will be the new LG phone available this spring. Currently only two Samsung phones available through the carrier are compatible with Google Wallet.
Bedier made his comments on a panel at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
Along with promising more devices, Bedier said Google is in ongoing talks with other operators, manufacturers, banks, etc. to extend the Wallet. He said 22 of the largest retail chains in the U.S. now support Google Wallet, Fierce reported.
