Funds sent via bitcoin app can be retrieved at the ATM

Funds sent from the user's bitoin account can be withdrawn in fiat currency at any Security Bank ATM in the Philippines.

Coins.ph, a Philippine bitcoin exchange has added a service that lets users send an instant remittance to a friend or relative — who can then withdraw remitted funds directly from a traditional bank ATM.

According to a report by CoinDesk, the service currently is available through the existing remittance program provided by the Philippines FI Security Bank.

The sender sets up the remittance in the Coins.ph mobile app; the recipient then receives a 16-digit reference number via SMS saying that funds are available.

The sender receives an additional, four-digit number to be forwarded to the recipient, enabling that individual to claim the funds at any one of 450 Security Bank ATMs across the Philippines.

Remittance amounts must fall within a 500-10,000 Philippine peso ($11.20–$223.80), with a monthly limit of 100,000 pesos ($2,235).
