Imagine you're out for a stroll after dinner and you happen upon a Kate Spade store. A lovely item in the front window catches your eye, but the store is closed. But what if there was a touchscreen attached to the storefront and you could order the item then and there?

John Donahoe, president and CEO of eBay, which also owns PayPal, can see such a scenario. In a recent interview with The African World, Donahoe weighs in on the future of e-commerce and mobile payments.

"The impact of mobile on our lives is just beginning," he said, adding that PayPal's focus on the offline world involves identifying "the main consumer pain points."
