Capital Prepaid Services adds mobile RDC to Visa prepaid card

Using a smartphone, BlazePays cardholders can take a picture of a check and, if the check is approved, load the funds to their card in minutes for a fee of 1 percent or 4 percent of the check value, with a minimum of $5.

Capital Prepaid Services Tuesday launched mobile remote deposit capture for the BlazePays Visa prepaid card to enable cardholders to make check deposits from Android and iOS devices.

Using a smartphone, BlazePays cardholders can take a picture of a check and, if the check is approved, load the funds to their card in minutes for a fee of 1 percent or 4 percent of the check value, with a minimum of $5. Cardholders also can choose to wait 10 days to access their funds at no charge if the check is not returned unpaid within the 10-day period, according to a press release.

The BlazePays mobile check cashing feature is provided through the Ingo Money mobile app.

Cardholders can use the Ingo Money mobile app to cash checks between $5 and $2,500 to their BlazePays Card, according to the announcement. Most check types are supported, including payroll and government checks, two-party personal checks, cashier’s checks, insurance checks, money orders and many others. If Ingo Money approves the check, it will be cashed and funded to the BlazePays Card. Once a card is funded, the money is guaranteed to the card issuer and is as good as cash and safe to spend by the cardholder.

"Our goal is to make the BlazePays Card the most convenient and economical payment tool for consumers," said Jay Kurian, president of Capital Prepaid. "With mobile check cashing, consumers can now load funds to a BlazePays Card regardless of where they reside in the U.S."
