Bitcoin might become a little bit more mainstream as a Wall Street Journal report claims eBay is in discussions with virtual currency companies such as Coinbase to integrate the cryptocurrency into its Braintree payments service. 

PayPal executives reportedly met with companies such as Coinbase to discuss how Braintree could accept bitcoin transactions, according to the Journal. Braintree enables online and mobile merchants to accept card payments. 

The Journal reported that no such deal is imminent, but that could change in the coming months.
