BofA adds new features to mobile banking app

Bank of America has announced a comprehensive redesign of its mobile app that the bank said includes easier navigation and the ability to set the language to Spanish, in addition to other features that are intended easier for customers to control their finances from a mobile device, according to a press release.

"Our clients increasingly rely on their mobile devices to navigate daily life and manage their finances, and now we are excited to give our Spanish-speaking clients enhanced access to our mobile capabilities," said Michelle Moore, head of digital banking for BofA. "We want to be where our customers are, which is why we are proud to deliver these new features that provide increased convenience to our 20 million active mobile users."

In addition to the app resdesign and the Spanish language option, BofA also added a way for its customers to redeem credit card rewards and view their FICO score.

BofA also revealed some key stats as part of the announcement.

During the second quarter of 2016, mobile banking customers logged into their accounts more than 900 million times, or approximately 47 times per user. During that same period, customers made more than 25 million mobile bill payments and nearly 80 million transfers, a growth of 30 percent and 46 percent, respectively, over 2015. Customers also used their mobile devices to deposit more than 280,000 checks daily and to schedule 22,000 appointments per week with a personal banker or financial center specialist.
