Bitcoin's value has taken a hit the past month, but Silicon Valley is still excited about the technology as wallet and analytics provider Blockchain announced it raised some $30 million in funding.

Lightspeed Venture Partners, Mosiac Ventures and Wicklow Capital contributed to this funding round, which was the single biggest one for a company involved with the cryptocurrency. Virgin Group Chairman Sir Richard Branson also contributed to the round.

Blockchain President Peter Smith said the company plans to spend some of the money on a marketing campaing to raise awareness with everyday consumers. The company boasts 2.3 million unique wallet users, making it the largest of its kind in the industry.
