Since the Greek debt crisis began, there have been a number of reports on whether Greek residents were making use of bitcoin. However, several companies are now beginning to offer services specifically to Greek residents, according to a report by Ekathimerini.

One website, called Spartan Route, is offering Greek residents and companies the ability to purchase exports using bitcoins and then invoices customers in euros. Next week, Cubits also plans to roll out in Greece to provide international transactions in bitcoin. Thanos Marinos will be the main Greek associate for Cubits.

Marinos, according to a report by Bloomberg, was the first to bring the bitcoin business into Greece. He started the bitcoin exchange Bitcoin Greece. Marinos claims demand for bitcoin has increased by 500 percent in the last four weeks.
