Bitcoin ATM rollout pending for Canadian exchange

Starting in June, the QuadrigaCX bitcoin exchange will begin an installation push in major Canadian cities, with units to be brought online in batches of five.

Canadian bitcoin exchange Quadriga CX, has announced plans to roll out a fleet of BitXATM SumoPro bitcoin ATMs in major cities across Canada.

According to Bitcoin Magazine, the machines will be installed five at a time in major cities to include Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. The report did not specify the total number of machines involved.

The cash in-cash out machines will operate on the Quadriga CX exchange, and will allow direct cash deposits and withdrawals from customers’ Quadriga CX balances, the report said.

Quadriga has already installed a number of bitcoin ATMs in Canada, including models by Lamassu and Skyhook. The company told Bitcoin Magazine that the BitXATM machines have established a reputation for reliability and ease of use.

The first batch of machines should begin to appear in Vancouver in June; as an introductory promotion, Quadriga will offer fee-free transactions on the new units for an unspecified period of time.
