Better Mortgage will be one of the first third-parties to take advantage of Samsung Rewards' new API, according to a press release.

"Samsung and Better are both committed to using technology to improve people's lives, which at its core, means removing friction from the process," Better CEO Vishal Garg said in the release. "At Better, we've made it possible to get pre-approved for a mortgage in as little as three to five minutes without the hassle of cold calls or bait-and-switch pricing. By integrating with Samsung Rewards' API, we're able to provide an even better customer experience to a new audience who wants to do everything from paying for coffee to buying a home right from their phone."

Samsung launched its credit card-like rewards system last year. 

The following will apply thanks to the agreement: 

• Better Mortgage will be a featured partner in Samsung services.
• Samsung Rewards customers will be able to navigate to Better.com from Samsung services to earn points when they hit three milestones throughout the mortgage or refinancing process: (1) getting pre-approved, (2) locking in a rate, or (3) funding the transaction.
• Using the Samsung Rewards API, Better Mortgage can securely confirm that a customer has achieved these milestones.
• Samsung Rewards customers can use these points to redeem items such as Samsung products, gift cards, entries into Instant Win opportunities, or even redeem for a Samsung Rewards card.

"Our new Samsung Rewards API is really important to bring innovative developers such as Better Mortgage into the Samsung ecosystem and provide greater value to our customers," Nana Murugesan, vice president and general manager of services and new business at Samsung Electronics America, said in the release.
