Australian credit union CUA Monday launched its Redi2PAY app, which enables users to make NFC-enabled mobile payments thanks to Host Card Emulation technology. 

"Unlike other mobile apps in the market, the CUA technology requires no tag or sticker to be attached to your mobile phone – you simply download the CUA redi2PAY app and off you go," CUA Chief Executive Officer Chris Whitehead said in a press release. "CUA is delighted to be the first to bring this easy and safe technology to banking customers in Australia, taking us one step closer to becoming a cardless and more mobile society."

The app works with Android phones running the latest operating system.
