Apptive intros features to help online merchants tap burgeoning m-commerce trends

Mobile-commerce merchants can leverage features for the holiday shopping season.

Mobile-commerce app platform Apptive today announced the release of Apptive 3.0. This latest version of the Apptive platform adds iOS8 support and builds on Apptive's mobile commerce experience with new functionality merchants can use to drive sales.

Three of the most compelling new additions in Apptive 3.0 include:

  • An enhanced, streamlined shopping interface to make finding and purchasing products even easier and faster across all mobile devices.
  • An integration with Google Analytics that allows merchants to get immediate visibility into the revenue generated through their app and to gain a deeper understanding of the buying patterns of their app users.
  • A new "Specials" module that allows merchants to create and share time-based, push-notification-enabled deals with their mobile audiences. This new functionality helps to maximize user engagement and ultimately drives mobile purchases through the app.

As a complement to the new shopping interface, Apptive is also introducing an enhanced native iPad layout. Customers will be able to take advantage of the rise in tablet commerce through a browsing experience that fully leverages the screen size and navigation elements of the iPad platform.

"Apptive 3.0 offers e-commerce merchants a powerful set of tools that make it easy to engage and convert mobile shoppers through smartphones and tablets," Apptive CEO Chris Belew said in the announcement. "It's also a great way for e-commerce merchants to take advantage of the latest mobile shopping trends this holiday season."

Apptive will go live with its 3.0 release in early November. New customers will automatically be able to take advantage of these new features, and current customers will have the option of updating their app to include the expanded functionality.
