Apple Insider reported this weekend that Apple's own store app now includes support for gift cards that can be loaded into the Passbook mobile wallet app.

According to the report, gift cards can be ordered through the Apple store app and sent either through the mail or to an email address. Digital cards can be used to shop online or users can drop them into their Passbook app as a QR code that can be read at Apple stores.

Customers can order gift cards in amounts between $25 and $2000.
