Another French city goes live with Masabi's mobile ticketing improvements

Masabi has announced the first two deployments of mobile ticketing using the JustRide SDK, which the company calls the world's first mobile ticketing SDK for the transport industry, according to a press release.

France-based Keolis and its and its digital subsidiary, Kisio, are the first to use the SDK. Keolis' Plan-Book-Ticket feature is available now for bus and tram passengers in Orleans, after Montargis went live in January. The SDK enables Masabi's strategic partner Keolis to incorporate mobile ticketing into existing travel information, booking and planning apps.

Plan-Book-Ticket incorporates visual and barcode-based mobile ticketing and validation technology from Masabi's JustRide platform. It enables French public transport agencies to create fully-integrated, custom branded, ticketing and trip planning applications, according to the release. Orleans has also deployed Masabi's JustRide Inspect Validator across the tram network, which enables passengers to scan their mobile tickets after they board.

"Thanks to Masabi technology, we are able to provide to French PTAs a mobile ticket with the same validation and control experience for passengers as with the usual contactless card. This is absolutely critical to prevent fare evasion," Laurent Kocher, executive director of marketing, Innovation and Services at Keolis, said in a statement.
