China UnionPay is reportedly set to a launch its own mobile payments service for Android-based smartphone manufacturers at some point next year, according to multiple local reports. 

AndroidPay would rely on a similar system to Apple Pay and would combine fingerprint authentication and NFC. Want China Times reports via the China Business News that industry insiders believe China UnionPay has approached some of the country's smartphone makers about the service although the system is still under development and there is no consensus how the business model will work for AndroidPay.
