Russian mobile game developer Playtox announced an agreement with WorldPay, a provider of payment processing, risk mitigation and alternative payments. With the deal, WorldPay will offer a payment gateway and merchant acquiring services to Playtox.
Playtox CEO Artem Zinoviev said the decision to partner with WorldPay for processing is based on Playtox's need for a partner with expertise in the payments market as well as a reliable service to meet its customers needs.
Playtox develops multi-platform browser-based multi-player mobile games for a variety of mobile operating systems and devices. The company is the largest gaming portal in Russia and boasts more than 23 million registrations.
"As consumer demand for alternative payments increases, Playtox's employment of WorldPay's alternative payments and gateway service provides the perfect foundation to grow internationally," said Phil McGriskin, chief product officer for WorldPay.
