Swedish mobile point-of-sale device-maker iZettle is expanding its footprint. The service will now be available to businesses in Spain. IZettle is already available in six other EU countries: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany and the U.K.
"Spain's small business owners are hurting — they need a helping hand, and an easy, low-cost way to start taking credit card payment so they never have to miss a sale because their customer didn't happen to have cash," said Jacob de Geer, co-founder and CEO of iZettle.
With the iZettle card reader, which accepts chip and signature cards, and its accompanying app, merchants can accept credit and debit cards through their iOS or Android devices. There is no monthly fee and mrechants pay a 2.75 percent fee for each transaction.
