Payment technology provider Clear2Pay and testing solution company TestPlant have announced a joint effort to offer a new test solution for the mobile payment space. The aptly named Mobile Payment App Test Solution will allow companies looking to enter the space like app vendors and wireless carriers to test their solutions for things like security and interoperability.
"Mobile applications impact our daily lives but they also influence the testing strategies of providers and issuers," said Clear2Pay's Marie Costers, director of operations open test solutions. "The partnership with TestPlant takes mobile app testing to the ultimate level allowing providers and issuers to launch their applications faster, cost-efficiently and with the power to perform thus ensuring a rich, secure customer experience."
By providing a test solution for mobile payments, the partners are looking to help companies ensure they are releasing secure applications that work across devices and platforms. Prior to this joint product, however, testing was a manual process that was complex, time-consuming and costly, the companies said.
Features of the testing suite include:
- Simulation: Ability for testers and developers to fully control the test environment and simulate a number of components, even testing for components like NFC POS devices or applications that aren't fully deployed as of yet.
- Test Scripting: Automating a test script lets testers run a number of different simulations and configurations and reduces the manual effort required to test various circumstances. That not only reduces the manual workload of testers but also eliminates human errors and increases repeatability.
- Graphical User Interface Test Automation: The GUI of mobile apps requires much clicking of buttons and entering of data, a cumbersome task on a small device. The Clear2Pay/TestPlant solution can automate those interactions and increase accuracy and test performance.
