Doxo, a "digital file cabinet" and electronic bill payment solution provider, has introduced a new feature that lets companies using doxo for bill presentment connect directly with their mobile customers.
The new "Connect QR Code" functionality allows business to put a QR code on documents such as bills, statements, envelopes and promotional mailers. Customers can then use the codes to connect with the provider on doxo, view the bill or statement, and make a payment directly from their mobile device.
According to doxo, its Connect QR Code capability works "out of the box" with its service, requires no software or IT services to deploy, and helps companies increase customers' paperless adoption.
"Mobile is the fastest growing customer channel, but to date has been difficult for many businesses to efficiently utilize," said Roger Parks, VP of product at doxo. "Because of this, it's important that we maximize the functionality of mobile devices to make it even easier for users to connect with their providers, access account documents, and make payments. The new Connect QR Codes enable businesses to offer this functionality without requiring users to create another biller account or download another app."
This isn't doxo's first foray into mobile bill presentment. The company recently launched a service for iPhone and Android devices that lets users receive and pay bills from multiple providers with one account in a single app.
Utility and service providers currently using doxo's services include AT&T, Sprint, Puget Sound Energy, Kansas City Power and Light, Sound Community Bank and Oregon Federal Credit Union. The services from doxo allow customers to connect to providers and have their documents delivered directly to their doxo digital file cabinet. Once connected, users' documents can be filed, printed, or downloaded at any time, and are securely stored without time limits.
